So in essence, attacking is fairly easy to do in the game.
By pressing an attack button and a corresponding direction, your character will throw out a punch or kick in that direction. Basic Attacking Shaolin Monks features a system called "multi-directional kombat", which allows you to attack enemies that are closing in from all sides.
